The Tour Trail is a free service. There are no fees or subscriptions to use any of our services or features. We make our revenue by taking a 10% share of your ticketing sales when you organise your ticketing sales through us.
How do I get paid?
We use PayPal to process all of our sales and when a fan purchases a ticket, the money flows directly and immediately into your PayPal account. We don't hold onto your money at all.
How does The Tour Trail take its revenue?
We keep a running balance of your total sales and your owing balance. When a sale comes along that is less than or equal to your current owing balance, we take the entirety of that sale.
For example, if you're selling tickets for an upcoming event at $5 per ticket. When you sell your first ticket the entirety of that sale goes directly to you and your "owing" balance is upped to 50c. The same happens for your second ticket. Now, when you sell your tenth ticket, your owing balance will be $5 and so that entire sale and only that sale will go directly to The Tour Trail and your balance owing is reset to zero.
The Tour Trail keeps an owing balance for each separate currency that you sell tickets in and treats them separately.
How about transaction processing fees?
PayPal has their own transaction processing fees which will be charged to you for every transaction. The standard rate per transaction is 2.9% + $0.30 USD. You can find more information about PayPal's standard transaction rates here.
So how can I calculate my actual income per ticket?
Let's take a look at some real numbers as examples. In this hypothetical we'll take the worst case scenario. This is the absolute minimum that you could make per ticket. In this scenario every fan buys just one individual ticket, you sell the exact right number of tickets for us to take the full 10% revenue share and you are on the highest fee rate on PayPal.
|Ticket price||PayPal fees
(2.9% + 30c)
|Your revenue per ticket|
* This was calculated using USD as the currency. There may be be slight differences in the PayPal fee totals for different currencies.
What about taxes?
It's your responsibility to track and submit the appropriate taxes to the appropriate tax agency for all of your incomes through The Tour Trail.
